I spend my nights
counting the stars
thinking of you
wherever you are

talking to the sky
saying your name
are you looking down
and doing the same?

I heard our song
on the radio
and it took me back
to Mexico

hot summer sun
tequila and lime
another life
another time

I close my eyes
and see your face
your green eyes
so full of grace

you’re everywhere
& right here with me
it’s almost like
you didn’t leave

I never thought
I’d do this alone
life moves so fast
time moves so slow

out in the canyon
I howl at the moon
I know that’s what
you’d tell me to do

I spend my days
just making it through
one breath at a time
is all I can do

and I spend my nights
counting the stars
thinking of you
wherever you are

I love you still

you are
